Aubrie inherited the bad genes

A couple of weeks ago Aubrie came home from school saying that she was having a hard time seeing the board and that her eyes hurt. All I could think was oh no not glasses. So I made her stand clear across the house and showed her magnet letters from the frig. She seemed to be able to read them fine so I passed it off. Then I went to her valentines party as the teacher was showing them flash card with their site words on them I noticed her blinking way more then she should. So we had to make a trip to the eye Doctor. Just as I feared she inherited mine and Angelo's bad genes. She has astigmatism in her right eye and her left eye was over compensating for it. He said it was a good thing we took her because sometimes it can end up making one of her eyes lazy. We had quite the eyeglass picking out session. They had way too many choices. And who would think that a 5 year old would have such and opinion of what she would and wouldn't wear. We were able to agree on 3 pairs and then she got the final say. The glasses she picked weren't in stock so I had to listen to her ask everyday all day for the last 5 days "are my glasses in yet?" I am glad that she is excited for them and feels good about them. I am sure it won't last for ever.

Kater's Room

So Karter is almost 9 months old and we finally decorated his room. He had inherited the winnie the pooh room the girls had. But after 2 previous kid using the bedding and not the best quality bedding it finally had to go to winnie the pooh heaven. Not only that, I was worried about his manliness in a room with flowers and butterflies. I decided we better help the boy out. This is the crib set I had wanted even before he was born but I was not about to pay the crazy price for it. So when I decided to do something different I was able to find it and the accessories for about 1/3 of the original price. HOW I LOVE A GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!!! We thought it turned out pretty cute.
Karter waving. (Yeh!!! no more flowers)

Home improvement

I have been such a blog slacker. I haven't posted because my camera batteries are dead and we have misplaced or lost Angelo's cameras battery charger. Anyway I finally got around to finding some new batteries. The end of January Angelo woke up one Saturday and decided he was going to tile our kitchen. We have talked about doing it for a long time but we had never got around to it. So we went to Lowe's just to look at tile. 2 hours later we left with tile and a major project. I was so worried about how it would turn out, beings that Angelo's tile experience was VERY limited. The weekend before valentines day Angelo sent me and the kids off to my parents. We decided that was probably best if we wanted to stay married. We had a great weekend there. Angelo's Dad came up and helped him on Friday and Saturday. When we got home we had a tiled floor and I must say it looks fabulous. I don't know why I ever doubt Angelo's abilities. He is pretty handy to have around. Come to find out it was a blessing that he had the itch to tile the floor because when he pulled the dishwasher out it had been leaking. A seal from underneath must have been cracked the floor was wet underneath and it had started to mold. So as a bonus I got a new dishwasher.

Oh Boy, What a BOY!!!!!

Well Karter is 8 months old and there is no stopping him. This month he mastered the army crawl. Before you know it he is clear across the room eating anything and everything he can find along the way. He occasionally crawls on all fours but he seem to prefer the army crawl. He has also learned how to climb the stairs. He has made it to the top of the stairs all by himself (I am ashamed to say). I had no idea he could climb more than one. Until I came up stairs to check on him and he was no where to be found. So in the mean time we became proud owners of two gates. With the girls we only needed one gate. We never had to worry about them climbing the stairs and definitely not at 7 or 8 months. He has also mastered pulling himself up to a standing position. Although he a VERY busy little boy he has the best smile. One that can brighten anyone's day. His sisters love him dearly and sometimes show him that a little too much.
This is the first time he made it up one step.
Karter loves Elmo. Is he kissing him or is Elmo eating him?
Being loved be his sisters.
Being a baby is hard work.
Oh, poor Socks. Just wait until he is walking!!!!!!!
We found Karter under the table.
The books were in the bags nice and neat waiting to be put in the girls room until Karter got a hold of them.
He is quite the helper or is he???????????
