We took the plunge and went on vacation. This was our first family vacation other then a trip to Nana and Papa's. We thought the girls were at the perfect age to experience the Disney magic. They love all the princess's and we wanted them to be at the age when it was real for them. We flew out early Thursday morning. We had not told the girls where we were going only that we were going to Denver. When we got to the airport we ended up having to tell them. As we went through security Karlee had a nervous break down because she thought they were stealing her pink boots and coat. When we got to California it was only 60 degrees we went to Huntington Beach. We had fun. We wished it was warm so the kids could have had more fun in the ocean. We ended up renting a 4 seater bike thing and riding up and down the bike path. The girls had fun looking for sea shells. Karter enjoyed eating the sand. Friday we drove to San Diego. We stopped by the San Diego temple. It was so beautiful. The flowers were amazing. Aubrie has decided that that is where she is getting married. Karlee has no desire to get married and move away from mom and dad. I am sure that will change. After the temple we went to Sea World. It was still a little chilly so we didn't get to sit in the wet zones. The girls were very disappointed about that. What do you think the chances are of running into someone you know in Sea World? Well right before we were leaving I heard my name being called and it ended up being a girl (Jillian Smith) from my hometown. She was in California for her brother-in-laws wedding. She was nice enough to watch Karter so we could all go on a ride together. On Saturday we went to Disneyland. There was a TON of people. No one told us that California's spring break was later than ours. None the less we had a ton of fun. Karlee's favorite part was when she was able to meet Minnie Mouse. That is all she could talk about. When she saw her she ran up and hugged and kissed her. That excitement was what made it all worth it. Aubrie loved that rides. Can you believe the girls both went in the haunted mansion? Karlee was so brave the whole time she just kept saying that it was just pretend. Karter was such a good boy he rode in the backpack on Angelo's back. We had been so worried about him and how hard it would be. But he was PERFECT!!! On Sunday we sinned (we DVR'd Conference) and went to California Adventure for a little bit. And guess what we ran into some people from our ward the Chavez's, what are the chances???? That evening we had dinner with the princesses. Karlee was a little disappointed she thought the princesses actually sat down and ate with you. It was still fun to she the wonder and excitement in their faces ever time the princess came to talk to them. We finished the night off in Disneyland. On Monday we loaded up and flew home. It was a quick trip but well worth it. We made some wonderful memories.
